As culinary experiences go, the simple joy of biting into a freshly prepared burger layered with texture and flavour is a very satisfying one. Whether you’re after a smashed burger or a thick patty, here are 8 of my favourite Bristol Burger spots. Pass the ketchup?

Prime by Pasture
- Prime by Pasture, Redcliffe – Offering a carefully curated selection of burgers, for each beef burger you can choose either a double smash patty or a single thick patty, which I really appreciate. We also sampled a range of the starters which were excellent, particularly the seasoning on the chicken tenders! Their breakfast menu is great too.
- Squeezed, Wapping Wharf – Plenty of fun flavour options here, I recommend getting the meal deal which includes burger, fries and fresh lemonade, and enjoy it sat on the edge of the harbourside.

Milk Bun
- Milk Bun, Clifton – really delicious burgers, all presented in their signature sesame seed coated milk bun.
- Oowee, North Street & Picton Street – my go-to spot for fried chicken burgers and waffle fries. If you’re feeling indulgent then I highly recommend the Biscoff milkshake! Check out Oowee Vegan for great plant-based offerings too.

Oowee
- Asado, Christmas Steps Arts Quarter – delicious thick patty burgers cooked on a traditional wood fired asado grill with South American flavours.
- Danny’s Burgers @ Fierce & Noble, St Werburgh’s – this pop-up serves tasty smashed burgers. I definitely recommend getting a double patty.

Los Hermanos
- Los Hermanos, street food stall – mouthwatering fried chicken sandos, make sure you try their signature comeback sauce.
- Low and Slow, Whiteladies & St Nicks Market – beautiful slow cooked meats with all the trimmings, and amazing smoked barbecue flavours. The brisket is my favourite.
Let me know if there are any other great burger places I should try!
